With over 20yrs experience in the veterinary nursing industry I have worked as an RVN, Head Nurse, Acting Practice Manager and Clinical Coach (Supervisor), always striving for the perceived 'best practice'.

I have spent the last 14yr in education as a lecturer, course team leader, Curriculum Manager, IQA and EQA in Further Education, an External Examiner in Higher Education and an Associate, Education Consultant and Quality Manager for awarding organisations. 

I am highly experienced in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, enhancement and risk management. 

I undertook professional formation to secure my Chartered and Advanced Teacher Status and QTS. 

I champion and advocate for quality in education and inspire everyone to be their best self through lifelong learning.

  I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse firstly, but education has had a profound effect on my career path.

I had the opportunity to support student vet nurses quite soon after being qualified, initially as an assessor, then as a clinical coach, and then training manager across an independent practice’s training sites. 

This then led into my first VN education role at a local college in 2012 and I have never looked back!

I have and continue to work as a Lead IQA, Assessor and Lecturer. I am also an experienced OSCE examiner, have worked as Head of Centre, and as an EQA for an awarding body.

Having supported many student vet nurses and clinical coaches/ supervisors in my time in education this has led to a passion in mentoring, as this goes hand in hand with the nature of my role.

I also am passionate about leadership and management, again there are clear links with mentoring and it’s importance in leadership roles, so the two work alongside one another well.

Hey there, my name is Emily I work as a locum in the East Midlands/Yorkshire area. After qualifying in 2017 I have worked in different settings including first opinion, referral and charity. I also have a passion for mental health awareness within the industry and creating social media content. I have built a platform on Instagram since 2018 which has been an amazing opportunity to connect with other professionals worldwide. Personal development has been an ongoing project for me with a big focus on confidence and self-worth, and whilst I am no grandmaster, I am happy to share my experiences, and if that means someone feels seen or heard, then that makes me feel beyond fulfilled.
