With over 20yrs experience in the veterinary nursing industry I have worked as an RVN, Head Nurse, Acting Practice Manager and Clinical Coach (Supervisor), always striving for the perceived 'best practice'.

I have spent the last 14yr in education as a lecturer, course team leader, Curriculum Manager, IQA and EQA in Further Education, an External Examiner in Higher Education and an Associate, Education Consultant and Quality Manager for awarding organisations. 

I am highly experienced in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, enhancement and risk management. 

I undertook professional formation to secure my Chartered and Advanced Teacher Status and QTS. 

I champion and advocate for quality in education and inspire everyone to be their best self through lifelong learning.

  I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse firstly, but education has had a profound effect on my career path.

I had the opportunity to support student vet nurses quite soon after being qualified, initially as an assessor, then as a clinical coach, and then training manager across an independent practice’s training sites. 

This then led into my first VN education role at a local college in 2012 and I have never looked back!

I have and continue to work as a Lead IQA, Assessor and Lecturer. I am also an experienced OSCE examiner, have worked as Head of Centre, and as an EQA for an awarding body.

Having supported many student vet nurses and clinical coaches/ supervisors in my time in education this has led to a passion in mentoring, as this goes hand in hand with the nature of my role.

I also am passionate about leadership and management, again there are clear links with mentoring and it’s importance in leadership roles, so the two work alongside one another well.

Hey there, my name is Emily I work as a locum in the East Midlands/Yorkshire area. After qualifying in 2017 I have worked in different settings including first opinion, referral and charity. I also have a passion for mental health awareness within the industry and creating social media content. I have built a platform on Instagram since 2018 which has been an amazing opportunity to connect with other professionals worldwide. Personal development has been an ongoing project for me with a big focus on confidence and self-worth, and whilst I am no grandmaster, I am happy to share my experiences, and if that means someone feels seen or heard, then that makes me feel beyond fulfilled.

I qualified as an RVN in 2009 and gained a job in a referral hospital in 2010 at

Langford Vets in Bristol. In 2014 I gained my advanced nursing diploma and during

my time as a clincal nurse I worked in the theatre department. During my time there,

I was involved in teaching and support of student Vets and Vet Nurses. My love of

teaching has led me to write articles for Veterinary nursing journals and produce

CPD for international CPD companies. In 2019, I moved into a leadership role,

leading a team of 14 nurses and Animal Care Assistants alongside a busy theatre

department. In 2021, I moved into a central support role for a major veterinary

employer group, supporting RVNs from newly qualified up to senior leader level and

during this role, I developed a passion for coaching and gained my Post Graduate

certificate in coaching and mentoring in 2024 from Plymouth Marjon University. This

sparked my interest further and in 2025 I became an International Coaching

Federation certified coach. My passion in coaching is to help people to gain

alignment in their lives in order for them to move forwards with clarity, whether that is

in their work or personal lives. I still work in the veterinary profession alongside my

coaching and hope to be able to use my skills to support others both in and out of

the profession.
